Operating environment:
Distributor ID: Debian
Description: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)
Release: 11
Codename: bullseye
After installing Debian, the folders in the home directory are displayed in Chinese in a Chinese environment, which is inconvenient for using the cd command. The software xdg-user-dirs-gtk (already installed by default in the Gnome environment) can be used to easily change them to English.
#Temporarily change the system language to English, it will automatically revert to the original value after restarting
export LANG=en_US
#Execute the conversion command, a window will pop up asking if you want to convert the directories to English paths, agree and close it
xdg-user-dirs-gtk-update
#Change the system language back to Chinese, you can also choose not to execute the following command and simply restart
export LANG=zh_CN
The next time you enter the system, you will be prompted whether to convert the directories to Chinese. Choose "No" and select "Do not ask again", then cancel the modification.
